2018 Memorial Cup Issue
Raise a championship banner to the rafters and celebrate a rich history of hockey excellence with this single stamp from a booklet of 10 PermanentTMdomestic stamps honouring the 100thpresentation of the Memorial Cup.
In a design evoking the Canadian flag, the Cup’s long history is illustrated by players from different eras facing off on either side of the cherished prize. Each player is dressed in the uniform of the Regina Pats, runners-up in the inaugural Memorial Cup and hosts of this year’s centennial event.
The stamps, which feature a metallic silver effect on the Cup, are presented inside a unique championship banner-style booklet with a pointed end.
First presented in 1919, the Memorial Cup was long dedicated to the memory of those Canadians killed in action during the First World War. In 2010, the Cup was rededicated to honour all Canadian Armed Forces members who have given their lives in the line of duty.
